Germania, novembre 1944, in un rifugio nel bosco... Il piccolo Ludwig fa la spia sul conto del fratello maggiore Alfred che viene poi picchiato dal padre. Durante la notte, Alfred non riesce a dormire a causa del dolore. E così, riesce a vedere due piloti che si sono paracadutati da un aereo schiantatosi in un bosco lì vicino. La mattina dopo, l’Esercito Volontario porta via il padre per dare la caccia agli americani. Alfred intravede così la possibilità di riconquistare l'affetto del padre: vuole trovare i preziosi paracadute americani prima che se ne accorga la polizia nazista. Ma il fratello minore Ludwig non desiste...

Germany, November 1944, in a forester’s lodge in the woods…

Little Ludwig tells on his big brother Alfred who then gets beaten by his father. During the night, Alfred can’t sleep because of the pain. This makes him a witness to two pilots parachuting from a crashing plane into the woods nearby. The next morning, a troupe of the Home Guard takes the father with them on the hunt for the Americans. Alfred spots the opportunity to win back his father’s affection: he wants to find the American’s valuable parachutes before the Nazi police force seizes them. But his little brother Ludwig insists on getting in his way…
