Video Contests and Brands
The Tezenis Video Contest, is definitely one of the most important Video Contests hosted on our site, and allows me to say a few words on such initiatives, their potential for young directors and the interest that this new way of communicating is causing among prominent marketing departments.
That communication is changing has become a very outdated view. Communication has already evolved and, like the media in which it is conveyed, it undergoes constant acceleration and significant mutations. The Viral Video are perhaps the most interesting way to convey a message, in a time when the use of a video can count on unprecedented propagation and amplification of its signal. Smart-phones, TV screens connected to the internet, videogame consoles and the like (besides the dear "old" PC), are used by an increasing number of users, thus forcing "traditional" channels to adjust to their language and bounce their contents.
It is quite natural, then, that corporate communication has found a way to use these new languages to fulfill their own purposes. Watching our TVs, then, it's become common to see a number of flash-mob clips, funny videos, user-generated-videos and, consequently, Video Contests.
To thouroughly analyze the reasons for the success of this kind of videos I'd like your opinion. I'll be waiting for your comments and will be seeing you in my next post!
